This is what we see as your role

The business development unit Digital and Controls is responsible for the development of advanced controls and system management solutions for the BDR climate products including heat pumps, gas heated & electrical boilers, solar solutions, and cooling solutions. As part of this ambition we believe in the need of a professional data and analytics team who will fuel our data infrastructure and explore the power of data in supporting the energy transition by providing data driven connected services to our customers. Therefore we are setting up a team with data scientists, data modelers, data & ML engineers and data analysts.

Your role as a Data analyst is to support multiple teams in BDR Thermea on their needs to track mobile apps analytics and uncover user behaviors and market trends. This can range from defining KPI’s and building dashboards to running analysis and conducting hypothesis testing. Your work will be used  to identify improvement areas and optimize the decision-making process regarding future directions for our apps.

Along with the primary responsibility you will also be successful in the following:

• You are responsible for end to end management of the data analytics types of use cases. Capturing business requirements, prepare and planning the use case, stakeholder alignments, demos and business presentations
• Collaborate with internal & external partners to assist with data collection and understanding the business question
• Understand, challenge and translate the information need and the underlying business challenge into a plan of approach/research questions that form the basis for further data analysis/creation
• Collect, structure, control, analyse, enrich and interpret different species internal/external data by using various modern methodologies/techniques and statistics. Processing/analyzing these data and data assets, developing data models and the trends, patterns and forecast and converting them into actionable data and insights
• Have an impact on strategic, tactical and operational decision-making by converting conclusions based on the results and insights into formulating comprehensible and actionable stories (actions/proposals/solutions) in order to support the business. You proactively initiate insightful reports/demos/presentations to internal/external stakeholders
• Articulate the findings in a team environment and add value through the sharing of these insights with stakeholders in an effective way with clear and quantifiable business impact
• (Pro-)actively improve data literacy within BDR Thermea and identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend system changes to fine-tune the data processing process, in collaboration with colleagues.

Your knowledge, skills, experience and character include

• You gain trust by using data correctly and in accordance with privacy and by showing empathy.
• Youo are able to explain (complex) matter and to convey it in an impactful manner at the level of the stakeholders.
• You have good experience working with BI related tools like Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, Google Data Studio.
• Knowledge of web & app analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google BigQuery, Firebase is a plus.
• Strong experience using statistical computer languages (SQL, Python, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets.
• Preferred experience of 3 – 5 years in relevant data context
• Multi-lingual capability: English combined with Dutch
• Is flexible and can work autonomously
• Pragmatic in approach. You use the right techniques to provide the needed quality and detail while avoiding complex solutions
• Excellent presentation and storytelling skills and ability to influence decision makers
