The business development unit Digital and Controls is responsible for the development of advanced controls and system management solutions for the BDR climate products. This includes heat pumps, gas heated and electrical boilers, solar solutions, and cooling solutions. In modern climate solutions digitalization, connectivity, IoT and data are a crucial element to achieve ambitious objectives in developing customer focused comfort climate solutions, which also reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint. In this complex ecosystem, different domains need to be integrated to reach these goals. The architecture team provides an integral vision on our technology landscape to reduce complexity and  standardize as much as possible. Resulting in an increased reaction speed on new market opportunities, an easier and more fun development cycle and technologic guidance to our roadmap and organization.

For this team we are looking for a Software Architect who has several years of relevant working experience in an architecture role. You will be working in the architecture team of 10-12 members. Each architect has specific domain knowledge (e.g. Comfort solution controls, Azure Cloud, security, enterprise IT, Linux, Embedded, Mobile app) and we are working together as a team to provide the integral architecture. Of course we don’t do this alone. As a team we also work closely together with Product Management, Product Owners, the Delivery teams and other relevant stakeholders.

Your knowledge, skills, experience and character include

• You hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in relevant Electronic Engineering field or software development
• Preferably relevant business expertise (e.g. energy, HVAC, IoT)
• Knowledge about the latest technology developments in the field
• Experience with standardization and simplification of software landscape for commercial product portfolio
• Thorough understanding of functional software architecture, system integration, connection to embedded devices and IoT. Preferably knowledge about Linux based embedded applications.
• Customer focused, service oriented with a global mindset.
• Good communication and presentation skills in English
• Deep technical to functional, context and audience sensitive.
• You are pro-active and an integrator.
• Experienced with standardization and simplification of software landscape for commercial product portfolio.
